Mirror Blocks

The Mirror block was created to allow you, the website designer, easier comfort in managing your pages. With this block, you can "Mirror" a block on another page (or the reference block). So, once the reference block being mirrored changes, your Mirror block will change as well (be sure to read all Technical Notes for this block).

Directions for use:

Page: Select the page which contains the block you wish to mirror. You can either use the "Browse" button to search for the page, or you can type in the filename (with the directory, where needed) of the page and press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Block: Once you have a filename in the above field, you should see a list of all the blocks on that page. Select the block that you would like to mirror. This will become the reference block that your Mirror block will reflect.

Click the "Submit" button to add the Mirror block. If you wish to return to your page without adding the Mirror block , click the "Cancel" button.

Editing the Mirror Block: Because the Mirror block is a perfect reflection of the reference block you will not be able to edit anything specific in the Mirror block. If you wish to edit anything in this block, you need to edit the reference block.

Updating Mirrored Blocks: The updating of a page containing a Mirror block is automatic. Whenever you change a page that is referenced as a mirror from another page, the page with the Mirror block will be updated the next time anyone tries to view it.

Technical Notes

IMPORTANT: When you Mirror a block on another page, it will reference that block by using the block number (the red number in the upper-left corner of each block). If you were to add another block before the reference block, it would increase that block number by one (i.e. from block 3 to block 4). Because your Mirror block is now referencing the same block number, but a different block, your Mirror block would change as well.

It is a good idea to create a separate page only for you to edit and view (titled "MirrorBlocks.html", for example) where you can keep all your reference blocks in order. The page may not look the way you'd like it to, but as long as you don't add any blocks before it, your Mirror blocks on other pages will forever reference the correct block.

Block Toolbar: This is an expanded version of the Block Manager found in EZ-PageBuilder™. The Toolbar goes far beyond the Block Manager, which adds, edits and deletes. The Toolbar includes all these features as well as 4 new features: Move up, Move down, Move, and Copy. It also appears on the top left hand corner of every block, which speeds up the building process and provides direct access to modify any block.
The layout of the Block Toolbar:


Add: This works exactly like the add function provided in the Block Manager.
  1. Click on the plus symbol of the block you want to add after or before.
  2. Select the type of block you desire as well as it’s position; after or before the block you clicked on which is called the "reference block".
  3. When the options are selected how you want them click on the submit button.


Edit: This symbol represented by a small pencil, opens up the editing window.
  • Just click on the pencil icon inside the block you wish to edit and the editing window will open.

Move Up: will move the current block, which you have clicked, up one block.
  • The block immediately above the selected block will move down to take its place. If the block you have selected is the highest block then the Move Up arrow will not be present.

Move Down: will move a block down to take the place of the block below it.
  • The block below will move up to take the place of the block being moved.

Move: a block to any location on a page. The icon with 4 arrows represents it.
  1. Click on this icon within the block you want to move in order to move it.
  2. The move page will appear and you can select the block you want to move after or before of (the reference block)
  3. Select if you would like to move after or before the reference block.
  4. When you have selected the options you desire click on the submit button.

Copy: Create an exact duplicate of any block and place it anywhere on the page.
  1. Click on the Copy icon (represented by 2 documents ) in the block you want to copy.
  2. The copy window will appear.
  3. The page you are copying to will appear after the File label.
  4. Select the reference block you would like to use.
  5. Select if you would like to move before or after the reference block.
  6. Once all these options are as you would like them click on the submit button and a duplicate version of the block you copied will now appear in the location you specified.

Delete: Click on this icon, (represented by the red x), to delete that block.
  • Click on this icon to delete that block from your web page. Once a block is deleted it is unrecoverable.
